markerRecruitment – Development Worker

CCRYS now wish to recruit a Development Worker

The successful candidate will work in partnership with local youth groups, volunteers and young people. This post will focus on the growth and implementation of CCRYS volunteer development strategy. This will include regional support, the co-ordination of training with local youth groups and the facilitation of cross community programmes.

The ideal candidate will have a real commitment to the ethos and values of the service and fit one of the following three profile requirements:

  1. A professionally endorsed qualification in Youth and Community Work is essential and 2 years experience of working with young people is desirable
  2. An equivalent professional qualification or degree and 2 years full time youth and community work experience is essential
  3. Experience of working as a full time youth worker without formal qualifications for at least 3 years is essential.

In addition to the above, the candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of youth work, have a proven track record of relevant experience and possess a range of practical skills and attributes suited to the strategic objectives of the Canal Communities Regional Youth Service.

Maybe you have a story about your area, your community or yourself!

Or maybe you just like listening to stories!

If so, Ballyfermot/Chapelizod Partnership & Canal Communities Partnership are organising a free 8 week programme for people with disabilities.

A facilitator will work with the group over 8 weeks looking at; storytelling, drama & photography, talking about your area & community, music and discussions.

So if you like telling stories, want to get involved in something a bit different and want to have some fun, then this is for you!

Starting: Wednesday 6th October, and every Wednesday after
Venue: Ballyfermot Family Resource Centre
Time: Between 6-8pm
